skilled billiard prayers compete in Hudyaka ZANORTE 9-Ball
Tirador Open Tournament, which started Tuesday at the
Plenary Hall of Zamboanga del Norte Convention and
Exhibition Center. Participants are from the cities of
Iligan, Tangub, Cotabato, Pagadian, Dumaguete, Dipolog,
Ozamiz, San Carlos, Negros Oriental, Cagayan de Oro City,
and municipalities of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, Molave,
Zamboanga del Sur; and the towns of Mutia, Rizal, Roxas,
Manukan, Siayan, Labason, Sergio Osmeña and Siayan of this
province.

Provincial
Tourism Council Chairman Atty. Michael Alan Ranillo, in
his opening message encouraged and challenged the
different billiard players present especially competitors
from Zamboanga del Norte not to be frightened to compete
professional billiard players who joined in the said
tournament. Atty. Ranillo was hopeful that someday soon an
Efren “Bata” Reyes will emerge from the said competition
and would give pride of Zamboanga del Norte.
The Tourism
Council Chairman said he really wanted for the said kind
of tournament to be conducted here in the province so
billiard enthusiasts will have the chance to harness their
skills. “This time, the dream has finally come true
through Gov. Rolando E. Yebes’ bursting support of the
tournament,” he disclosed.
The 9-Ball
Tirador Open Tournament is one of the sports activities
for Hudyaka ZANORTE 2005 that will end on June 3. This
tournament is organized by the Dipolog City Cue Players
Association, Cong. Roseller L. Barinaga of the 2nd
District, San Miguel Corporation and the provincial
government of Zamboanga del Norte. (Abante
