Daylinda Luz Reluya-Laput This year's activities seem to cater the men and men alone off-road, shootfest, bikathon, etc.. Is Zamboanga del Norte running short of women? Yes, there might be a pageant, but still for the whims of the men (hungry for the beauty of the flesh?)Instead, choose earth friendly beauties who keep in touch with the environment, that with a so laudable cause. Keeping in touch means, one who knows the Bukid, the Dagat, etc. Not that we would only select a bunch of laughing stock, why because these girls cannot even articulate. The booths are splendid, women still behind them yet, what????? selling? Can't we think of any other better than pageantry and commercially centered attractions. Why not hang on to environment and children-friendly concepts, or might be job fares and business opportunities for small and medium scale entrepreneurs. There are many different ways to improve wholesome individuals and a better Zamboanga del Norte. Una sa tanan ang katawhan. But I suggest you may add to your famous adage, ang kabataan. The future and the hope of a stronger society. I believe you can still do more than the traditional pa-effect. |
